2011-08-14 The mountains!
Fagge, almost 15 years old, had to come with us this year up in the mountains and we thought we
were going to have a little different week than we used to. But Fagge thought differently! He joined us
almost every day and he walked and was so happy to be with us and he didn't look tired at all. He is
in good condition, that we know, but we didn't think he would like to do this but he didn't show any loss
of energy or weakness. Of course we didn't do the very long hikes and he also stayed home when we
did the hard one, Saldalen. But he really amazed us! Pictures here! Enjoy! :-))

A little late but my computer died just before New Year! Thanks to Lotten for getting me back on track!

We want to thank you all, puppy buyers as well as all our friends, for the lovely times during the year!

A year has passed and we slide into a new year, (a lot of skiing at the moment). With new puppies and
their families we look forward to new challenges both in the show rings as well as in the field!

Year 2010 got to be a lure coursing year for Yulara with our Congogirl Gali as the Top Winning Lure Courser.
Jarrah was 4th and Noni 11th, with only two competitions. Yulara was 3rd LC-breeders of the year.
Splash was 4th LC-progeny basenji with her kids Jarrah, Thella and Noni. Frizze was 6th progeny LC.
Chika manage to get her LC champion title, nr 4 for Yulara!

Jarrah scared us to death today!
We were out in the forest a 40 min drive from home and it was lovely, very quiet, empty and the dogs had fun. The mist was dancing over the little lake and life was just wonderful.

We were on our way to the car, all dogs, except Jarrah, was on lead again when Jarrah suddenly ran away in high speed. Oh yes, he will come I thought and went down from the hill to the car. No Jarrah! We were wistling, shouting and howling but no Jarrah. Not a sound, nothing! We waited, we went back up the hill, we were howling, wistling and shouting but nothing. What to do? I did put out a blanket for him and we drove a little futher on the road just to check if he was there somewhere and if something had happened to him. Nothing else than more forest, no cars, no sounds nothing. This was odd. Jarrah is the tracker in the family and he always comes back so I was very puzzled and started to be very worried. How was I going to find him? It was not fun to be alone in the forest now. More than one and a half hour had passed.
I realised I needed help, so I put out a crate with a blanket and some goodies in it and left for home to get help. More than an hour later we were back and I did see a car at the place where I had put the crate and also a person standing beside it. Oh my, now he has been hit, was my thought. But Oh NO, there was Jarrah sitting in the car and he had no intentions about leaving it :-)) But when he saw us he jumped out of the car and he was sooooo happy and Fagge was with us and they were so pleased to see each other and Jarrah tried to tell him all about his adventure.
A happy ending and I must say I am proud of Jarrah who came back and stayed by the crate and we also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the young man who stayed with Jarrah until we came.

Charro's last day in Sweden!

Poor Charro had to experience snow and the blizzard of a lifetime.
The town of Stockholm was in total chaos, no buses, trains and he was stuck on a train for a few hours,
 but he took it very well and was pleased to finally be back with the girls.
Bye, bye Charro it was great to have you and thank you ever so much Pat for letting him come to Sweden.
Now we keep our fingers crossed for puppies!

Exciting breeding plans for 2006!

We are now inviting Charro, Ch Berimo's Roustabout SC, to a vacation in Sweden the coming autumn.
He will come back with us after the American National and he will stay october.
We are extremely grateful to Pat Marshall, his breeder and owner, for letting us have him over.

Charro will breed both our girls Splash, Ch Tamsala Makes Waves, and Chika, Ch Yulara Itichika.
They are almost nonrelated so it will be two very interesting combinations.

A lot has happened since last update :-))

Chika was Top Winning Bitch in Sweden 2005!
She has been shown three times during 2006 with 2 x BOS and 1 BOB and BIS!

She has also been competing in lure coursing with 1 first and 1 second place, both times with CCs (unofficial).

The brothers Jedwood and Jarrah have done great as well.
Jedwood is a new Swedish Champion.

We have been to the mountains!!

Up on "Hundfjället" (Dog mountain)

We had a lovely week hiking the mountains of Transtrandsfjällen. The dogs were running free all the time and we picked a lot of cloudberries, we have never seen as many as this time. Cloudberry jam is very nice together woth pancakes and icecream.
It was a rainy week but between showers it was wonderful.
The dogs are having a ball and it is interesting to see how they cope in new terrain and a lot of wind and rain. Mayi proved again to be the perfect path finder and a compass. She took us straight to were we had parked the car every time. One day she was quite upset with me because I chose another path then she and I have to admit, she was right.

Today it was Ruby who surpised us by winning BOS with CC from the veteran's class, she was also BOS-veteran.
BOB, BOB-veteran and BIG-5 was Ch Senjisfinx Erebor. Congratulations to Elisabet Selinus, Senjisfinx basenjis!!
Jedi, Yulara Jedwood, was 2 best dog with CC, Fagge was 4th best dog and Jojo, Yulara Jojoba, won the open class with AOM. We also had a breeder's group, consisting of Fagge and his kids Ruby, Jojo and Jedi, and it got AOM and was BOB group.

Our little Chika, Yulara Itichika, could not compete today due to an acute emergency and it was discovered she suffers from an acute hepatitis. She is home again and hopefully she will recover and be her old self again.

At Drammen show the 12th Moa managed to win an agility competition!
It is never too late, Moa is now 10 years old and still going strong!

New Polish Champion!

The 5th of June in Poland Kokojambo's Aali Asali got her Polish Champion title!
BIG congratulation to the Stalinskis (owners) and Kokojambo's basenjis!

This was the third Champion kid out of the G-litter girls. Ch Yulara Gwai Galah's son Chifuma is Danish Champion, Yulara Gwai-Billa's son Sharans Haluzi is Swedish Champion and now Ch Yulara Gwai Gidya's daughter Asali is Polish Champion.
We are now excitingly waiting for Ch Yulara Gwai Gulli-Maya's daughter Yulara Itichika to finish her title.

We have been to the island!
Finally it was time for the first trip of the year to the island. The dogs just love it and get so tired after checking all things and to see to that the "intruders" are kept on the right side of the water.

It is great to see how the pack works. Fagge is the leader and nobody passes him when confronting the cows. He stops, they stop. If he moves forward, they move forward. If we, the two legged, move on, he moves on. He analyses the situation and suddenly he decides the cows are not coming and he gives the signal to rest of the pack and they run back to the "dry safety" on the island. Most of the time when we come for the first time we also have a deer on the island. It should not be there, so the dogs herd it to the water and they see to that the deer runs over to the other side of the water. Then they are satisfied and come back to were we are in the sun and they lick themselves dry.

Chika did it again!

Chika won her 3rd BOB for the year. BOS was her cousin Sharans Haluzi who also finished his title. We send big congratulations to his breeder Maria Kindberg for her first homebred champion and his owners Nellie and Robert plus Billa, Yulara Gwai-Billa, his mother.
Moa was 3rd best bitch and, Jedi was 3rd best dog. We had a breeders group which got an award of honour.

Julle, Ch Yulara Purple Chief, surprised us all by winning BOS and BOS-veteran at the show. His father Fagge, Ch Yulara Fulared Fagus, was 2nd in veteran's class. Jedi, Yulara Jedwood, Fagus' younger son got the CC and was 3rd best dog. We also had a breeder's group and Fagge had a progeny group, both awarded with AOM, and the breeder's group ended up BIS-2 at the show.

We had a nice and windy day at the first LC event of the year.
Taimi did very well and was 3rd in a very tight competition, Splash was 4th. Yulara Gwai-Billa was 2nd with unofficial CC and her daughter Sharan's Zombifa won win unofficial CC. We have been skiing this weekend! What a great thing for the basenjis. My two boys Fagge and his son Jarrah just love it and it is Jarrah's first time out, but he is a quick learner and looked at his father who has been a great sledge dog, and got the hang of emediately!

Fagge is not allowed to compete in lure coursing any more. He is too old! According to the Swedish rules they are not allowed to run after "the year they have their 8th birthday". We are also not allowed to compete for the points giving us the F Ch title, but Fagge has run very well and he has won three of his competitions resulting in an unofficial F Ch title.
Our hopes go to his children with Splash, Jarrah, Jedi and Jojo, that they will get their LC licences this year.

What A Day!
In Österbybruk, judge Leif Lehman Jörgensen, Chika, Yulara Itichika, was BOB with CC. Splash was 2nd best bitch with CACIB. (Chika is too young for CACIB) and Moa was 3rd best bitch, BOB-veteran and BIS-3 veteran in the final. Frizze was 2nd best dog with R-CACIB.

Fagge Club champion in obedience for the 4th time!

Fagge won the Club championship in obedience 2004, Moa was 2nd and her and Fagge's daughter Ruby, Yulara Ruby Crescent, was 3rd.
Jarrah won the Puppy class and Hedda, Yulara Holly Hedaya, was 3rd. 2nd was Hedda's friend Tindra, Faraoland Vive La France.
Moa won the Trick class and Fagge was 3rd.

Today Fagge did win his 3rd lure coursing competition, out of five. Taimi was 2nd and Splash was 3rd.

In Västerås the 25 of april little Chika at her 2nd show was BOS with CC. Ch Yulara Fulared Friscus
was BOB-veteran and was looking great!! We also want to congratulate Lotten Eriksson, owner/handler,
to Ch Wazazi Dazzling Image BOB. Splash was 5th best bitch.

In Västerås the 24/4 Yulara had a meeting with Mayi's grand children. Y. Gwai-Billa's kids
Haluzi and Aritza, Y. Gwai Gulli-Maya's kid Y. Itischika, Y.Fulared Fagus' kid Y.Jarrah and
Y. Gwai Galah's kids (not in the picture) Aaliyah and Amini. Big congrats to Nellie and
Robert, owner of Haluzi, for having done a great job with him and for his first CC.

In Dingle, Sweden, Taimi was at her first LC event and did great. She got 77 points which she shared
with Zeke, Mwami's American Devil In Disguise. It is the highest score any Basenji has gotten
in Sweden. Zeke won the competition because he had 80p in the first run where Taimi had 78.
In the 2nd run Taimi had 76 and Zeke 74. Fagge was 3rd.

"Yulara Jewang, "Wang", has moved from home to Sollefteå, in the north of Sweden, and to the kennel "Lejonklippan" (Lion Rock) and all their Leonbergers and their owner Petra Högberg and family.
Yulara Jedwood, "Jedi", has moved to Paula and Micke Malmström, who have got their third Yulara boy now. At home is already Jedi's half brother "Julle", Yulara Purple Chief.
Yulara Jojoba, "Jojo", has moved to Ari januus and his family and the Basenji dog "Doddo", Lijeborg's Chan Dorian of Dazzling.

Our Keeper from Gaia's litter, Chika, Yulara Itichika, was BOB-puppy and BIG-4 at the Newfoundland Club's puppy show in Västerås. Over 700 puppies were entered.

Maya-Mayi The Veteran of The Year 2003 at the age of 11!

Mayi was again The Veteran of The Year 2003, she won it also in 2000 when she also was the Basenji Of The Year. She did it with the same spark as usual and was 3 best bitch and BOB-veteran at the Stockholm International 2003. Mayi was also 5th best bitch 2003.
Her show career is over now, except for the Nationals, and she is now going to enjoy living as The Oldie of the Yulara gang.
Mayi has given me unforgetable moments during the years with BIS at The Norwegian and The Swedish Nationals, several BIG:s and the biggest memory was when she was BIS at The Åland show in 1996.

BIG congratulations to the Winner of The Basenji of the Year 2003 Ernie, Ch Wazazi Dazzling Image, for the 3rd year in a row and his owners Lotten and Tomas Eriksson. I have had the pleasure to handle him through the year and it has been a real joy.

Our Yularas have done well with Splash, Ch Tamsala Makes Waves, 2nd best bitch 2003 and Moa, Ch Yulara Desert Pea, 2nd best veteran of the year 2003. Robin, Fagge and Taimi have also placed in the top ten.
